About BibleBook
BibleBook is a place to read the Bible, with no account to create. The text is set in the manner of a printed Bible, with large, clear type and a few simple tools for finding your way through it.
Every book, chapter and verse is here in four English translations: the Berean Standard Bible, the King James Version, the World English Bible and theAmerican Standard Version. All four are in the public domain, so you may copy, quote and share them freely.
What you can do
- Make the text larger, change the typeface, or read on a dark page in the evening.
- Listen to any chapter read aloud.
- Highlight and bookmark verses, and share them with friends.
- Follow a reading plan, and see a new verse every day.
- Compare translations side by side, see related passages, and look up the Hebrew and Greek behind the King James Version.
- Read chapters you have opened before without an internet connection.
The help page explains each of these step by step.

Sources
The Bible texts come from eBible.org. Related passages and the “In this chapter” summaries are from the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (about 1880), and word studies from James Strong’s Hebrew and Greek dictionaries (1890). Both are in the public domain. The Treasury and the Hebrew dictionary are used from the electronic editions of the CrossWire Bible Society, and the Greek dictionary from Ulrik Petersen’s XML edition, published by Open Scriptures. The book introductions and topic lists were written for BibleBook and follow the traditional attributions of authorship and date found in most study Bibles.
The typefaces are EB Garamond, Literata and Atkinson Hyperlegible, used under theSIL Open Font License. Search is by Pagefind(MIT licence).
